Tomorrow I get VO2 max testing for the bike. I've been working really hard to get bike fit over the last month while maintaining my run training. I think I've done well but I'm worried I misjudged my taper. I'm still a little flat and sore. Hopefully I can kill it tomorrow. Since the testing is part of a medical study I won't get my results for a month or two. Unfortunate but totally worth it since I get DEXA body scan data too!
I've been making my own ghee from grassfed butter to remove the casen and still reap the benifits of the butyric acid. Rendered some more bison fat recently and it came out unburnt and beautiful. I used a wet render this time. The resulting cracklin byproduct were still inedible. I would really like to figure this one out so I can eat my cracklins and avoid pork. Speaking of which I found an asian product called fish maw which seems to satisfy the above need, however it is very expensive!!
On a last note I'm always experimenting...Latest results: If I eat 5 or more tablespoons of coconut butter and don't move around much, approximately four hours later my body will start generating so much thermal energy I can melt a huge block of ice on my chest and still feel like I'm burning up. I'm sure that revving up your metabolism to such a degree and forcing so much energy through your mitochondria takes years off your life.
